The Importance of Words, Frequency, and the Power of the Placebo

Words carry vibrational energy, influencing the mind, body, and spirit through their frequency, a concept rooted in both science and holistic traditions.

By harnessing transcendent words and frequencies (e.g., solfeggio frequencies eg. 528 Hz), you can improve your overall resonating health. (Science, 2013; NHMRC, 2024).

This section explores how words and the placebo effect can optimize your overall vitality.

Words are like seeds planted in the garden of your mind and body. Their frequency, like sunlight, can nourish or harm the garden, amplifying growth when belief is strong. Transcendent words and frequencies cultivate a thriving garden, clearing toxins (weeds) and support vibrant health.

The Importance of Words

Words, whether spoken, thought, or written, carry vibrational energy that influences physiological and psychological states. In holistic traditions, words are seen as carriers of intention, shaping the body’s energy field and cellular environment (The Hidden Messages in Water, 2004).

Scientific and Holistic Relevance:

  • Scientific Basis: Words trigger neurochemical responses in the brain, activating the parasympathetic nervous system (reducing stress) or hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis (modulating inflammation) (Journal of Health Psychology, 2015).
  • Affirmative affirmations (e.g., “I am cleansing and healing”) can lower cortisol, supporting lymphatic drainage and glymphatic clearance during sleep (Science, 2013).
  • It is more than positive or negative! It is also the emotion the words convey or create as well as the vibrational resonance of the words.

The Concept of Frequency

Frequency refers to the vibrational rate of energy, including sound, aroma, ions, words, and electromagnetic fields, which influence cellular function and health (Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, 2018).

Scientific and Holistic Relevance:

  • Scientific Basis: Sound frequencies can modulate brain waves (alpha, theta), reducing stress and supporting glymphatic clearance during sleep (Science, 2013).
  • Words spoken at specific frequencies (e.g., calm tone) enhance parasympathetic activity, aiding lymphatic flow (Web:0).
  • Holistic Benefits: Solfeggio frequencies assist your cells to vibrate at their optimum potential. Just as lower frequencies can disturb cellular health, optimal frequencies can heal and enhance. Recoding to optimal function.

The Power of the Placebo Effect

The placebo effect occurs when belief in a treatment’s efficacy drives physiological improvements, even without active ingredients (Journal of Clinical Psychology, 2010).

This has further explanation in other sections.

Words as Spells of Limitation

The Nervous System and Our Story

Words are not just communication tools; they are vibrational patterns that shape our beliefs, emotions, and physiology, acting as “spells” that can limit or expand our potential. These spells form our personal story—the narrative we tell ourselves about who we are, what we’re capable of, and how we relate to the world.

The nervous system, a key pillar in the hierarchy of health, internalises these stories, calibrating to their emotional and energetic frequency, which can reinforce limitations or assist liberation.

Empowering words—like “I am resilient,” “I cleanse and renew,” or “I ignite my healing”—sow vibrant flowers, recalibrating the nervous system to freedom and growth.

When I first discovered the incredible body of work that Dr John Demartini offers the world, an affirmation that helped me with some challenges that I was having at the time, was as simple and yet as extraordinary as,

“I am a genius who applies my wisdom!”

These repeated words assisted me in my holistic approach to developing a deeper belief in what I could offer to my vocation and family.

How Words Become Spells of Limitation

Language as Vibration:

Words carry emotional and energetic frequencies that influence the brain’s neuroplasticity and the nervous system’s autonomic responses (Neuroscience Letters, 2018).

Meaning… words have an impact on your nervous system!

Negative words (e.g., “I’m not enough”) activate the amygdala, triggering the sympathetic nervous system (fight-or-flight), increasing cortisol, and disrupting hormonal balance (testosterone/estrogen) (Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 2018).

Meaning your own story can continue to initiate the cycle of stress just as a different story could calm and invigorate.

Creating the Personal Story

Repeated words form beliefs, shaping the narrative identity—the story we live by. For example, saying “I’m always tired” reinforces a cycle of fatigue, as the nervous system calibrates to expect and perpetuate this state (Lipton, 2015).

Phrases like “I’m too old to heal,” “My hormones are out of control,” or “I’m stuck with toxins” create self-fulfilling prophecies, limiting healing potential by:

  • Neuroplastic Reinforcement: Strengthening neural pathways that encode limitation, reducing resilience (Neuroscience Letters, 2018).
  • Endocrine Disruption: Chronic stress from limiting narratives dysregulates the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal (HPG) axis, affecting testosterone (men) and estrogen (women) (Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 2018).

In summary…. be careful of what you repeatedly say!

The Nervous System’s Role in Reliving and Calibrating to Words

Reliving the Story: The nervous system, particularly the autonomic nervous system (ANS), relives the emotional charge of words through:

  • Sympathetic Activation: Negative words (e.g., “I’m broken”) trigger fight-or-flight, increasing heart rate, cortisol, and oxidative stress, which impair detoxification and hormonal balance (Journal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, 2009).
  • Somatic Memory: The vagus nerve and limbic system store emotional patterns from words, causing the body to relive stress or limitation (e.g., muscle tension, shallow breathing) (Science, 2013).

I learnt this the hard way! When I would talk about my car accident, my symptoms of pain would become stronger after those presentations or conversations. I learnt that I needed to create a way to share the lessons of evolution, but not the trauma!

Why Awareness of Our Story Matters

  • Breaking the Spell: Awareness of limiting narratives allows conscious rewriting, shifting the nervous system from stress to resilience:
    • Neuroplasticity: Positive words (e.g., “I am healing”) rewire neural pathways, enhancing parasympathetic tone and hormonal balance (Neuroscience Letters, 2018).
    • Placebo Effect: Empowering narratives amplify belief-driven healing, reducing cortisol and supporting detoxification (Lipton, 2015).
    • Avoid using words and diagnosis labels that yield heavy emotions such as anger, fear or frustration. Everything has a meaning, so please be careful of what you allow into your energy field.
  • Detoxification Support: A liberated story reduces stress, enhancing lymphatic/glymphatic clearance of heavy metals, supporting testosterone/estrogen (Journal of Environmental and Public Health, 2020).
  • Hormonal Health: Positive narratives lower cortisol, stabilizing the HPG axis for testosterone (men) and estrogen (women) (Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 2018).

There is so much more that we can put into this section, but as a seed, let’s remember to truly hear what we are saying and ensure ou words and messages match our healing path.
