As we tiptoe toward the end of another year, I want to pause right here – before the tinsel, the to-do lists, and the rush – and look straight at you (Obviously with my big delightful smile). 😂
Yes, YOU.
The one who kept showing up even when life felt heavy, who breathed through the wobbles and injuries, who chose kindness for yourself on the days it would have been easier not to.
This December isn’t just about celebrating a season; it’s about celebrating you – the quiet, fierce, beautiful miracle that you are.
You don’t need to earn rest or joy;
You already are the reason for both.
So let’s close 2025 the way it deserves: by wrapping our arms around the person who matters most – YOU – and giving you the gentlest, brightest, most well-deserved celebration of all.
Important December Dates

Toys for Treatment or Yoga Tuesday 2nd December
If the spirit moves you, please bring a new, unwrapped toy (suitable for children of all ages) to donate to local families for this Christmas. In lieu of payment for class on Tuesday 2nd December.
Kevin is doing his annual Toys for Treatment Day on Tuesday 2nd, where instead of paying for Chiropractic Care, donations of toys, gift vouchers, care packages are accepted. These donations will be given to local families in need.
Kevin ran this campaign for many years in his business of Hunter Valley Chiropractic and then with Port Stephens Chiropractic & Yoga, we continued this tradition for the last 16 years. This initiative has been adopted nationwide as part of the Australian Chiropractic Association as the #givingback campaign.
Here are some photos of the evolution of this program here in Port Stephens. 8 of the 16 years accounted for in these pictures 😊

Staying Centered When the World Feels Crazy
December can feel like a sprint to the finish line, but your nervous system doesn’t have to run the race. A few little anchors that help me stay balanced:
5-minute breathing breaks (even in the shopping-centre car park!)
A daily “no-phone” cup of tea – just you and the steam
Saying “no” to one thing so you can say “yes” to your peace
Remembering that being fully present with the people you love is the best gift you can give
You don’t have to do it all. You just have to do what keeps your heart light.
Make time for yourself this month.
Celebrate YOU –
The you who showed up on the mat all year,
The you who kept going even when it was hard,
The you who is worthy of rest and joy right now, today.
Thank you for being part of this beautiful community in 2025.
I’m so grateful for every breath we’ve shared.

Reflections 💞
Listening to your shared questions and your needs, the following subjects are for you to have some of the answers in writing, so you can revisit them and have the links for certain sequences with easy access.
Our Overall Process with what we do in Yoga with me and why you feel so great after our sessions.
Imagine your body as a flowing river of energy, where the gentle pulse from your skull to your tailbone (the craniosacral rhythm) keeps everything in sync—like a soft inner tide.
This tide lifts your main breathing muscle (the diaphragm), fills your lungs with fresh air, and lets your heart glide smoothly in its sac.
These organs are all linked by invisible energy highways called meridians, especially the “triple warmer” line that hugs your chest and connects to your stomach and spleen to spark digestion.
Science backs this: studies on fascia (the body’s connective web) show that tight spots around the diaphragm or mid-spine can choke blood flow and nerve signals, impacting gut function and stressing the heart-lung team (e.g., research in Journal of Bodywork & Movement Therapies on thoracolumbar restrictions).
Therapeutic yoga is our gentle reset button in one simple pathway with our chest opening sequence. Simple poses that melt tension in the chest, free the diaphragm, and let meridians flow…. and that is just one of our sequences.
The result? Effective breaths, calmer heartbeat, and a happier gut—all riding the same restored wave of energy and as well as supporting biomechanics.
This is why I have coordinated with Linda from The Wellness Path to deliver this workshop below for these specific needs.
Digestive Serenity & Adrenal Balance
A 3-hour healing immersion for anyone facing diverticulitis, IBS, bloating, inflammation, or adrenal burnout from chronic stress and high cortisol.
Learn simple, proven tools to calm anxiety, deepen sleep, quiet restless legs, and ease back, hip, and joint pain—so you can reclaim the energy and ease stolen by discomfort.
Held in Wellness Path’s tranquil studio—softly lit, infused with calming sound frequencies—this session blends gentle therapeutic yoga, guided holistic meditation, and restorative energy practices to:
Smooth digestive flow
Lower inflammation
Recharge your adrenals
Restore whole-body balance
Fully adaptable—every pose and breath is modified to honor sensitive digestion and low energy. These sequences will the be given to you as a recording so you have more tools available if you have an episode of challenge.
Elevate your renewal: A soothing massage, rejuvenating facial, or energy healing (booked either 10am or 1pm) to deepen relaxation and fast-track healing.
Wednesday, 12th November $175
10 am – 1 pm or 11 am – 2 pm All Inclusive: Includes immersion workshop of Therapeutic Yoga, Energy Clearing, Sound Bath, Aromatherapy and Frequency Attunement, your choice of treatment, and light refreshments.
Please see the following links so you have fresh access to the recordings that you have asked for.
My thoughts on health demise and health recovery…..
I’ve walked the razor’s edge between miracles and surrender—witnessing bodies rise from the brink of collapse, pain evaporating like morning fog, while others whispered the quiet incantation “I’ll never get better,” sealing their fate with every breath.
In three decades of firsthand experience, I’ve learned that the body is not a machine to be fixed but a living symphony: fascia humming like violin strings, the craniosacral tide pulsing from skull to sacrum, the diaphragm dancing with lungs and heart in a rhythm older than language.
When thoracolumbar tension knots this flow, science confirms (Journal of Bodywork & Movement Therapies) that vagus nerve signals dim, gut function stalls, inflammation surges, and adrenals drown in cortisol.
Yet beneath every layer—muscle, meridian, memory—lies the sacred core: transcendent emotions that shift biology.
Hope ignites neuroplasticity.
Certainty steadies the autonomic nervous system.
Faith opens cellular receptors to healing.
Present-time awareness dissolves cortisol loops.
Gratitude floods the system with oxytocin.
And LOVE, the highest vibration, rewires despair into cellular remembrance:
You were and never are broken.
Holistic well-being is not a checklist but a sense of coming home.
A supported heart-opener (our upper back release) over a “blankie” releases the diaphragm’s sigh, our breathing technique, rekindles digestive fire along the stomach meridian, and a guided meditation anchors you in the now, where pain loses its story. You know what we do, and everything has a purpose… even my crazy stories!
Every practice is adaptable—whether you’re tender from IBS, stiff from adrenal fatigue, or simply weary—enter with safety, not strain. I’ve seen restless legs still, sleep deepen, and inflammation fade not because of a pose, but because someone felt hope in their bones for the first time.
This is the alchemy:
When LOVE becomes the medicine, the body remembers it was born to thrive.
You don’t need to believe yet—just show up.
The emotions will do the rest.
Chiropractic: The Core of My Health Journey
Chiropractic isn’t just a modality I utilse for myself and my family —it’s the heartbeat and essence of my entire approach to wellness.
When you ask me about modalities, pathways, or protocols, know this:
Chiropractic is my foundation.
It’s the lens through which I see all foundation healing.
Why? Because Chiropractic empowers you – me to take comprehensive responsibility for your/ my health.
It’s not about waiting for someone to “fix” you.
A great Chiropractor will simply say that they helped you by getting your body doing what it should do, which is healing itself!
The hardest patients who walk through the Practice door (and we still love and care for them!) are the ones begging for a quick fix—they’ve surrendered their power. The next pill, potion, remedy, intervention….
But the ones who thrive?
They understand:
You do the work.
You invite experts into your journey.
You ignite your own innate healing capacity.
That’s the miracle. By keeping your “electrics” in order—your nervous system clear, coherent, and unobstructed—everything else flows.
Energy.
Vitality.
Clarity.
Joy.
When your spine is aligned and your nerve channels are free, you’re not just surviving—you’re radiating.
You’re embodying the living miracle you were born to be.
Just like your car engine has a service, that is the beauty of keeping our nervous system at optimal function. To continue the car metaphor for a moment…. You keep the outside of the car polished, put the best fuel in… but without the electrics, the car will not start. The electrics need to be at optimal function.
In your body the electrics are your nervous system.
That is why I encourage Chiropractic.
Holistic Wellbeing
Cultivating feelings of joy, gratitude, awe, and love—especially by keeping happy mental pictures ready during tough moments—helps calm the body’s stress reaction right away.
Ongoing stress keeps the body in high-alert mode, raising tension that tightens the shoulders, pulls the head forward, and rounds the upper back into a “hunch,” while flattening the natural curve of the neck.
In contrast, turning to joyful thoughts or warm memories quickly eases that pressure, relaxing tight muscles, opening the chest, and restoring upright posture with a gentle neck curve. This shift lifts mood, lowers swelling in the body, strengthens focus and connection with others, and builds greater strength to handle life’s challenges.
When stress drags on, the liver gets overloaded trying to clear excess stress hormones, which can lead to a buildup of harmful substances. This strains the liver, causing it to store extra fat, become inflamed, and work less efficiently at its cleansing job. As a result, toxins back up and affect the whole body—feeding a cycle of tired energy, mood swings, skin issues, digestive trouble, a weaker immune system, and even more muscle tension that locks in the hunched shoulders and straightened neck. For a deeper look, read Why Zebras Don’t Get Ulcers by Robert M. Sapolsky (3rd edition, 2004), a clear and trusted guide on stress and its effects on the body.
So why do I encourage puppy and cat videos as an example….
Watching cute puppy and cat videos triggers a real feel-good rush in your brain by releasing dopamine, the reward chemical that sparks pleasure and motivation, along with oxytocin, the bonding hormone that warms your heart and reduces stress.
The wide eyes, playful antics, and innocent expressions of baby animals tap into our natural caregiving instincts, lighting up the same brain circuits as when we hug a loved one or eat something delicious. This quick hit of positive emotion lowers tension, slows your heart rate, and even eases muscle tightness in the neck and shoulders—helping undo the hunch and forward-head posture that stress locks in.
Just 30 seconds of giggles at a kitten chasing its tail or a puppy wagging in slow motion can shift your body from fight-or-flight into calm and joy, proving that a little online fluff is more than just fun—it’s a mini stress-relief therapy session.
There is method in my madness! 😂
My best wishes and support are with you always!

More information with Our Heavy Metal Cleansing Program
Medical experts agree: reducing heavy metal exposure is key to vibrant health. Lowering heavy metal levels can enhance skin, organ, immune, and brain function, helping you feel your best.
As we have discussed previously, heavy metal overload is linked to numerous chronic conditions, including: neurological disorders (e.g., dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s), cancers (including skin), autoimmune diseases, inflammation, mood disorders, diabetes, bone loss, cardiovascular issues, reproductive health problems, and more.
If you would like to have a look at a page about The Hierarchy of Health, I welcome you to have a look here. So often people go straight to the symptom and attempt to make the symptom disappear, rather than address – why is the symptom there.
If you would like to join the program, it is a one off $25. Yes it is ridiculously cheap – because I really want you to have the information and to improve your health!
This is not medical advice. This information is for education and entertainment purposes. Seek Professional Guidance and support with any lifestyle and nutritional change.
Congratulations on powering through your strongest winter yet!
Many of you have bounced back quickly from colds or flu, showcasing your resilience. It is timely to note the common cold’s role in flushing out toxins and harmful cells. In today’s knowledge bank, this is often overlooked, but this isn’t redundant science. Studies worldwide have consistently shown that colds and adenoviruses can weaken cancerous cells and are used in various protocols.
Note: I’m not suggesting you seek out a virus, but staying proactive with your immune system can make a difference. Monitor early symptoms and support your immune system with nourishing broths, soups, extra nutrients, emotional wellness, and reduced EMR exposure—especially during travel—potentials of iodine, vitamin C and other protocols depending on your needs could assist your strength.
A special note about travel:
It is not always the bacterial or germ exposures that are talked about with flying, long car trips etc that cause an immune system challenge. Consider hydration, sleep, food choices and electromagnetic exposure and how they contribute to the level of challenge that then really kicks in to demand our recovery.
Everything is connected….
I am absolutely loving that you are all really expanding your knowledge to embrace that all elements of your body are interconnected. For example, those of you who have issues with diverticulitis will generally have right hip, right shoulder, lower back, plantar fasciitis, and diaphragm compression. This is not always at the same time, and hopefully, you only have a couple of these simultaneously. This basket of symptoms makes sense the more you realise nerve supply, acupressure, and meridian lines.
If you keep your nervous system strong, your body will continue to come back to balance – homeostasis – the medical definition of health.
Your body is always trying to bring itself back into balance…. be kind to yourself and remember, you are a living miracle!
Over the past few weeks, I’ve shared how heavy metals can impact brain function, immune health, and overall well-being. I’m thrilled to announce that the support I’ve long wanted to provide is now available in our Heavy Metal Cleansing Program, designed to help you shed layers of health burdens.
If you have questions about the details below, feel free to reach out or join our class sessions for a discussion!
Hopefully, the next step of all this will be to have this published as an ebook and hardcopy book…. always making more work for myself 😂!

Heavy Metal Detox – Why and How….
A brilliant question about brain health sparked an incredible conversation that’s worth reflecting on, no matter your age or current health. When it comes to dementia, Alzheimer’s, and overall brain function, there are a few key factors that holistic health experts are increasingly focusing on.
Three major culprits stand out: heavy metals, excessive sugar, and lack of mental stimulation through new patterns. These play a bigger role in brain health than even genetics or hereditary factors.
Heavy metals, in particular, are a concern beyond just the brain. These toxins, along with others, can accumulate around injuries, areas with limited movement, or restricted blood flow, wreaking havoc on your body’s systems. But here’s the good news: there are practical, everyday steps you can take to manage this.
Forget extreme liver detoxes—they can do more harm than good by disrupting your chemistry and hormones. Instead, start simple. Try adding brain-boosting foods like coriander and chlorella to your daily meals. You might also consider foot patches or soothing foot baths with bentonite clay, Epsom salts, or magnesium flakes for a gentle detox approach.
For those ready to dive deeper, protocols involving fulvic acid, zeolite, or bentonite clay can be powerful, but timing and nutritional support are key to making these work effectively.
Over the next two weeks, I’ll be sharing a detailed program called “Heavy Metal Detox Support” in the VIP members’ area. It’s packed with practical hows and whys, and you’re welcome to explore it at your own pace.
In the meantime, check out the short video below for more insights when you have a moment. Let’s support our brain health together!

Some Thoughts About Winter ….
Winter whispers a quiet invitation to slow down, to turn inward, like the earth itself retreating into a deep, restorative slumber. It’s a season of hibernation, a sacred pause where nature models the art of healing through stillness. Just as trees shed their leaves and animals curl into cozy dens, we too can embrace this time to nurture our bodies, minds, and spirits, preparing for the vibrant renewal of spring. Winter’s metaphor for healing is profound: it teaches us that growth often begins in the dark, in the gentle act of resting, reflecting, and rebuilding.
Winter as a Metaphor for Healing
In the hush of winter, we’re gifted a chance to hibernate within ourselves—to look within, tend to old wounds, and set intentions for the season ahead. This is a time to be gentle, to cradle your heart and body with compassion. Like the earth conserving energy, we can focus on healing by releasing what no longer serves us, whether it’s physical tension, emotional baggage, or cluttered thoughts. Winter’s stillness encourages us to detox from the noise of the world, creating space for clarity and renewal. By setting small, intentional goals—be it mending an injury, strengthening your immune system, or cultivating inner peace—you plant seeds that will bloom in spring’s light.
Holistic Practices for Winter Healing
Here are some nurturing practices to support your body and soul during this introspective season, weaving together gentle yoga, injury rehabilitation, immune support, and holistic detoxing.
1. Gentle Yoga for Inner Connection and Healing
Gentle yoga is a perfect companion for winter’s call to slow down. It invites you to move with intention, fostering a deep connection between body and mind while supporting healing. Poses that ground and soothe can help you release tension and cultivate warmth from within.
Practice Tips:
Practice in a warm, cozy space with soft lighting or candles to mimic winter’s gentle glow.
Use props like blankets and cushions as we do in class to support your body, emphasizing rest over strain.
Focus on balanced breaths to oxygenate tissues and promote relaxation, aiding both physical and emotional healing.
Try the sessions above, perhaps in the morning to set intentions or evening to unwind.
Winter Intention: As you move through each pose, visualize releasing old energy and inviting healing light into your body, preparing for spring’s renewal.
2. Rehabilitating Injuries with Care
Winter’s slower pace is ideal for tending to physical injuries, allowing you to focus on rehabilitation without the pressure of constant activity. The key is patience and consistency, mirroring nature’s gradual preparation for growth.
Holistic Approach to Injury Rehab:
Work with a tailored rehab plan, especially for chronic or new injuries.
Ice and Heat Therapy: Use warm compresses, heating pads, or warm baths with Epsom salts to relax muscles, improve blood flow, and ease pain, especially in cold weather. Use ice protocols to reduce inflammation.
Mindful Rest: Prioritize sleep and rest days, as the body repairs most effectively during deep rest. Winter’s longer nights naturally support this.
Nutrition for Tissue Repair:
Eat warming, nutrient-dense foods like bone broth, which is rich in collagen and amino acids to support joint and tissue repair.
Include anti-inflammatory foods like turmeric (try golden milk with black pepper), ginger, and omega-3-rich foods (wild salmon, walnuts) to reduce swelling.
Stay hydrated with herbal teas (e.g., chamomile or nettle) to flush toxins and keep tissues supple.
Winter Metaphor: Just as the earth rests to rebuild its strength, your injury rehab is a quiet but powerful process of laying the foundation for a stronger, more resilient body in spring.
3. Supporting Your Immune System
Winter’s cold and reduced sunlight can challenge the immune system, especially if you’re detoxing or healing. A holistic approach strengthens your body’s defenses while honoring the season’s introspective energy. All of this is subject to your bio-individuality and might give you some inspiration to ask some further questions.
Immune-Boosting Practices:
Vitamin D: With less sunlight, consider a high-quality vitamin D3 supplement (consult a healthcare provider for dosing) or eat D-rich foods like egg yolks and fortified nut milks.
Warming Nutrition: Sip on immune-supportive broths or soups made with garlic, onions, mushrooms (like shiitake or reishi), and herbs like thyme or oregano, which have antimicrobial properties.
Herbal Allies: Incorporate elderberry syrup, echinacea tea, or astragalus root to bolster immunity. A daily cup of ginger-lemon-honey tea warms the body and supports detoxification.
Dry Brushing: Stimulate the lymphatic system with gentle dry brushing before showering to aid detox and improve circulation, helping the body clear waste.
Rest and Stress Management:
Prioritize 7-9 hours of sleep to allow your immune system to repair and recharge, aligning with winter’s natural rhythm.
Practice mindfulness or meditation (even 5 minutes daily) to reduce cortisol, which can suppress immunity. Try a guided body scan to release tension.
Avoid overexertion; winter is not the time for intense workouts but for gentle, restorative movement.
Winter Metaphor: Your immune system, like a hibernating animal, thrives when given the resources to rest and rebuild. By nourishing it now, you’re preparing for a vibrant, healthy spring.
4. Detoxing Gently in Winter
Detoxing in winter should be gentle, focusing on supporting the body’s natural elimination pathways rather than aggressive cleanses, which can deplete energy in the cold season. All subject to your individual needs and reviewed with current medications and protocols.
Holistic Detox Practices:
Hydration: Drink warm water with lemon or herbal teas (dandelion root, burdock, or nettle) to support liver and kidney function.
Fiber-Rich Foods: Eat seasonal produce like root vegetables (sweet potatoes, beets), winter greens (kale, chard), and apples to promote digestion and elimination.
Sauna or Steam: If accessible, use a sauna or take warm baths to encourage sweating, a natural detox pathway. Add essential oils like eucalyptus for respiratory support.
Journaling: Detox emotionally by journaling about what you’re ready to release. Write down fears, regrets, or habits, then burn the paper (safely) as a symbolic letting go.
Avoid Over-Detoxing:
Steer clear of extreme fasts or juice cleanses, which can weaken you in winter. Instead, focus on whole, warming foods that nourish while cleansing.
Listen to your body; if you feel fatigued, scale back and prioritize rest.
Winter Metaphor: Detoxing in winter is like clearing the forest floor of old leaves, making space for new growth. It’s a quiet, intentional process that prepares you for spring’s vitality.
Setting Goals for Spring
Winter’s introspective energy is perfect for setting heartfelt goals that align with your healing journey. Think of these as seeds you’re planting in the fertile darkness, ready to sprout when the light returns.
Reflective Practices:
Vision Board: Create a collage of images and words that represent your spring aspirations—health, joy, new beginnings.
Journal Prompts: Ask yourself, “What do I want to release this winter?” and “What am I calling in for spring?” Write freely, letting your intuition guide you.
Small, Achievable Goals: Set intentions like “Practice gentle yoga 3 times a week,” “Cook one immune-boosting meal daily,” or “Meditate for 5 minutes each morning.”
Mindful Planning: Break your goals into small steps, focusing on consistency over perfection. For example, if rehabbing an injury, aim for daily stretches or weekly therapy sessions, tracking progress in a journal.
Winter Metaphor: Each goal is a seed tucked into the earth, quietly gathering strength. Trust that your winter work will bloom into a radiant spring.
A Closing Reflection
Winter’s embrace is a gentle reminder that healing doesn’t rush. It unfolds in quiet moments—through a warm cup of tea, a slow stretch, a deep breath, or a page in your journal. By honoring this season of hibernation, you’re not just surviving the cold; you’re preparing for a rebirth.
Be gentle with yourself, look within, and trust that the work you do now—whether mending your body, nourishing your spirit, or dreaming of spring—will carry you into a season of new life, vibrant and whole.
(Google says this is about a 7 minute read, enjoy when you have a moment 🤗)
As Autumn’s extremely damp air settles in, it’s a gentle reminder to pause and listen to our bodies. The changing season invites us to tune into the wisdom of our symptoms—those quiet signals urging us to slow down, reflect, and nurture ourselves. Just as leaves fall to make way for renewal, we too can shed what no longer serves us and prioritize rejuvenation. Let’s embrace this time to rest, nourish, and reconnect with our inner rhythm.
By honoring our body’s needs, we cultivate balance and resilience, preparing us for the vibrant renewal that lies ahead. Here’s to a season of deep listening and self-care.
Follow up to Bone Broths & Tea – Nutrition
As we discussed in class, keep your kitchen stocked with the nourishing goodness of bone broths—perfect for sipping or cooking! You can easily buy pre-made broths for convenience or dive into the wealth of online recipes to find flavors that sing to your taste buds. Whip up these nutrient-packed elixirs when you’re feeling vibrant, then freeze them for those busy or under-the-weather days. With a stash ready to go, you’ll always have a cozy, health-boosting option on hand!
Here’s a no-fuss way to make bone broth. Grab 1kg or so of chicken bones (leftover roast chicken or cheap wings work great) and toss them in a medium pot or small slow cooker. Add half an onion, one carrot, one celery stick, a splash of apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of salt. Cover with about 6 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then simmer on low for 12-24 hours (or set your slow cooker and forget it). Strain, cool, and store in a jar. Sip or cook with it all week! For more easy recipes, check online.
Maybe research Potassium Broths as they are my favourite for respiratory support.
Lemon Ginger and Honey Tea
When you feel the early signs of a cold or flu, I highly recommend a soothing Lemon, Ginger, and Honey Tea. I like to make a large batch—about 3-5 liters—in a big saucepan. Simply slice a lemon and add it to the pot along with roughly chopped ginger and a generous dollop of Manuka honey. Pour in boiling water, stir, and let it steep to meld the flavors. Whenever I or my family take some out to enjoy, we top it up with more hot water to keep the batch going.
You might also enjoy exploring recipes like Fire Cider. Preparing these in advance ensures you have simple, supportive options ready when you need them most.
Further Information about Cranial Nerves
The explanation below about the Nervous System is truly insightful. I’m excited to share it with you to deepen your understanding of why I’m so inspired to promote cranial support techniques and a strong advocate for Chiropractic Care to support nervous system health.
In my own journey, I experienced a profound improvement in my healing and overall well-being through Chiropractic Care and craniosacral support. I hope this offers you a clearer perspective on the benefits of these techniques! If questions arise or you would like more explanation, bring your questions to yoga class or the free health care class on Tuesday 3rd June. (Further information way down below in this post😊)
The Vagus Nerve & Autonomic Nervous System – Dr Frans Kromhout
“Many health issues stem from the autonomic nervous system (ANS), which regulates involuntary functions like heart rate and digestion. Think of its three states like Goldilocks’ porridge:
Too hot – Sympathetic “fight or flight.”
Too cool – Parasympathetic dorsal “freeze and shut down.”
Just right – Parasympathetic ventral “calmness and healing.”
This is the Polyvagal Theory.
The ventral vagus fosters rest, digestion, and recovery—an optimal state.
The dorsal vagus, however, triggers a survival “freeze,” leading to depression, brain fog and fatigue.
The sympathetic mode drives stress and action.
Ideally, we’d spend 90% of our day in the healing parasympathetic state and 10% in fight-or-flight.
Yet, Applied Kinesiology muscle testing reveals that almost the entire world’s population is stuck in sympathetic mode 100% of the time.
The vagus nerve, the body’s “Internet,” connects the brainstem to every organ. If it malfunctions, it sends “fake news” to the brain, causing symptoms like anxiety or palpitations, despite healthy organs.
The body has hardware – the heart, lungs, and all the organs. And then there is the software.
Most of Western medicine is focused on the hardware.
The vagus nerve’s action on our entire system is like the software controlling the body’s hardware, vital for relaxation, digestion and connection.” — Dr Frans Kromhout
Hopefully, some of the above information can help you appreciate why you feel so clear after our sessions. Cranial sacral work and nervous system support are great foundational pillars of health.
Online VIP Community Upgrade
I’m so excited to share some heartfelt updates to make our journey together even more vibrant, accessible, and inspiring—no matter what season of life you’re in. My mission has always been to support your health and wellness with practices that feel nurturing, doable, and empowering, and I’ve been pouring my heart into creating something truly special for us all.

I’m thrilled to announce that our VIP Members Area is getting a big, loving upgrade! This is your cozy, virtual space packed with tools to keep you moving, healing, and thriving—whether you’re joining us in person or practicing from the comfort of home. Here’s a peek at what’s waiting for you:
Over 50 exclusive classes (via private YouTube links) to guide you gently through your practice.
Tailored recovery programs for knees, hips, spine, shoulders, feet, and more—designed to meet you exactly where you are.
Meditations and breathwork to calm your mind and uplift your spirit.

This space is all about you—whether you’re navigating an injury, staying home with a cough, or simply craving a quiet moment to heal on your couch or bed. It’s your go-to for gentle practices that oxygenate, restore, and empower you to feel your best.
Why This Matters
Life is dynamic, and so are we. Sometimes you can’t make it to class, or you need a practice that fits around a busy day or a healing body. That’s why I’ve made this online haven super accessible—now just $25 a month (a big drop because I believe so deeply in our shared journey). You can also use one of your Yoga 5 visit sessions each month to join, and because we’ve been together for so long, I trust you to keep track🤗 .
A Little Laugh and a Lesson
Oh, and a quick story—my recent “Live” sessions on YouTube accidentally welcomed some unexpected online guests (hilarious, but not quite the vibe I was going for!). Meanwhile, the Facebook “Live” sessions vanish after 30 days, which just doesn’t feel right for our community’s needs. That’s why I’m doubling down on creating a private, intentional space where we can grow together without any surprises.
Your Next Step
This is more than a membership—it’s an invitation to weave health, healing, and joy into your everyday life. Whether you’re flowing through a class, breathing deeply in meditation, or exploring a workshop on diverticulitis or immune health, you’re part of a community that’s here to lift you up.
Let me know if you are allocating one of your Yoga visits on your class pass (1 per month) and I will get you the link and password access ASAP.

I would love to say, “As the year settles into a little bit of routine”….
However, it feels that the routine this year will be a lot of no routine. So again, millions of thanks for supporting me through the variations in our life routines. With that said, it is great that we will be able to use the online platforms again such as Thursday 6th March 10am session will be online via the private Facebook group.

Monthly Energy Attunement Self-Healing
There was such a huge outpouring of interest with self-healing process after our Yoga during February, I realised the need to support you all with helping our energetic body alongside mind and body.
For those needing scientific validation, – you are also in the correct place. This is the fantastic crossover of Science meets Soul. Just as a few examples, thermographs have documented how specific emotions can heat, enhance, deplete or cool certain areas of the body. This has been documented on a muscular, skeletal, visceral, cellular, chemical and lymphatic level. Electromagnetic devices such as the fields of Heart Math and Quantum Physics have provided scientific explanations to support the strengthening of the energy field around our physical body to improve our overall physical and emotional health, including resistance to disease and inflammation management.
Dates will be released in late March.

Some of you expressed interest in my Champions YouTube works. Here are a couple of links where you can have a look at their works. A thumbs up on videos and comments are always welcome! (You do need a Gmail account and to be logged into Google/YouTube) to comment.

In the afterglow of many different emotions for so many different people over the last few weeks, we now have the opportunity to come together on common ground to continue healing as individuals and as a community – mind, body and soul.
As we reconnect and continue our health journeys together, I am mindful that many of our community are still very much in their healing journey. Some of you healing as Indvidual, some of you as Carers, some working to support many on their healing journey. With this at the forefront of thought here, I ask you to be kind to yourself and continue to find time even in some small way to recharge your battery and rejuvenate your mind and body.
Managing physical ailments as well as balancing your physical and emotional body are essential in calming inflammation as well as maximising your wellbeing.

Adding a Venue at our Sanctuary
Work is coming to the final stages for a wonderful healing space at Eagleton. This venue will welcome individual consultations, monthly meditation, monthly energy balancing and a healing retreat program. Please note Kevin will still be working at Nelson Bay and I will still have my normal program in Nelson Bay.
I am looking forward to having our Community luncheon at Eagleton in the autumn weather. You will be able to look around the property and experience our incredible Sanctuary.
That is me in the flanno and yes, all were hands on deck. Just clarifying those panels were extremely heavy and it was extremely hot! (Hoping you have a little sympathy for us). 😂
Short and Sweet Update
Kevin completed his annual toys for treatment day. During this annual event we were able to assist many local families directly via an incredible community member who does exceptional work for families in need.
This is an event where people bring in gifts in lieu of treatment and those gifts are donated to local organisations or this year to one incredible woman who helps local families discretely and directly.
Here is to an incredible 2025!
I love this thought that I check in with everyday….
I hope it helps you feel fantastic with your actions as well 💜.
I would love to see you at our end of year gathering!
Whether you have been on Yoga sabbatical this year due to being too busy, injury or health recoveries…. if you are free on Tuesday 26th November, we would love to see you at Corlette Hall. Even if you can pop your head in and say a quick hello!
Please come along and bring a plate of food for yourself or to share (if you can stay for awhile) and bring whatever you would like to drink.

Mind Body Soul – Review
Over the year we have talked about the relevance of posture, the balance of how we move and hold our body and then how it comes to influence our overall health and vitality.
As a resource for our Christmas season and a resource for you to have some breathwork, classes and explanations, some further links will be posted here soon.
Standing Posture Review of Technique
Gentle Hip Flexor Stretch Technique
A bad episode of back pain and some management techniques
As we have talked about in class, there are some better things to do when you have a pain challenge or you are helping someone who has a challenge.
What to do when you have had a back blip…
Remember your deep core muscles need oxygen and minimal effort, so when you are in pain, the bottom cheeks and hip flexors are your best friends to support you. As many of you are told with injury rehab, the deep core muscles should be working, but in that critical incident moment, they won’t be able to do their job because of the chemical, hormonal and structural protection your body is trying to give you. To help you embrace the protective action of the body, have a look at the clip that will be inserted here for support in the immediate moments post injury and how to move in those moments post injury.
Great tools to have on standby include the hiking walking sticks. Not only are these great for long walks and hiking, but they are fantastic to support posture and balance during acute injury moments.
I will continue to support you with awareness of other tools and strategies and look forward to you maintaining your youthful vitality!
Importantly, …… When you are in pain – get help! Treat yourself, get treatment and take action to enhance your healing!
Congratulations to……
My love – Kevin Schwager was recently recognised for his support for Aboriginal, Torres Strait and Rural Health Support by receiving the “Outstanding Service Award” from the Australian Chiropractic Association. True to his humble approach to any type of recognition, Kevin acknowledges the many Practitioners Australia wide who could be recognised and is grateful for those that nominated him and the Award.
Gift Ideas
Our Champion has some of her designs at the Chiropractic Practice as well as some jewellery that we have got directly from the importer. Some of the gem necklaces that are retailing at $65 in some of the big chain stores are available for $25. Gems include Garnet, Carnelian, Mookaite, Aquamarine, Amethyst, Tigers eye, Tourmaline, Fluorite and more. There are bracelets as well.
Another interesting item we were able to get from the importers as well as lined nepal booties, were bamboo food protectors. A bamboo tray with a supported flynet structure. $33 for the set of 3. There are square or round options. If you cannot get to the Practice and are interested in any of these, let me know and I can bring samples or your order to Corlette Hall.
To Wrap Up
This year personally, has held the richness of what life can offer. Supporting my beautiful community and clients is a gift I always cherish!
On a personal adventure, the injuries to my love and champion earlier in the year and the ongoing recovery of my other champion have made me so grateful for my support network which each and every one of you are part of! Thank you for your smiles, your support! Thank you for being there!
I look forward to supporting you and continuing to walk with you on this incredible journey of life, health and living wonderfully!
The cool mornings, warm afternoons and those playful westerly winds, can be very drying – potentially dehydrating.
On all layers of our physical, emotional and energetic wellbeing, it is a great time to commence your spring protocols. To avoid cramps and extra aches and pains, maybe look at a bit of extra attention to your hydration, magnesium, potassium and good oils to help you navigate the early weeks of spring.
Keep your immune system strong with the foundations including sunshine, fresh air and vitamin C. Breathwork and gentle movement to assist on all layers including lymphatic support.
Your eyes, skin and hair will indicate your internal health. Pay attention to your liver, kidneys and gut health to support the change of season. Traditionally as the weather gets warmer, there are possibilities of detox protocols. Please remember to prepare your body and that a detox for some body types can actually cause more stress and more long-term inflammation issues on a cellular, systemic and muscular skeletal levels.
Remember the hierarchy:
Oxygen metabolism
Water uptake
Nervous System
Nutrition
Recovery and Rejuvenation
Also, a wonderful opportunity to clear and strengthen your emotional and energetic layers of wellbeing. Consider your overall resonance and vibration with some energetic work. We will continue to support these layers in Therapeutic Yoga, Qigong, Chakra Journey Sessions and on a much deeper results-oriented layer for any of you booking in for individual energetic healing processes.
Look after your emotional body with high priority. It is not just the idea of stress, but it is the actuality of how our thoughts and environment produce a chemistry and hormonal environment that can be depleting your physical wellbeing. Intellectually, we can insist that, “everything is fine”, however your chemistry and hormones will indicate otherwise.
Be kind to yourself!
Having said that, if you have not already had the chance to look at this beautiful message from my Champion. Take the time to have a look at this beautiful less than 2-minute YouTube clip – “What it Takes”. Feel welcome to share this clip.
