As we settle into these August days together, I’ve been thinking about each of you and how we can support one another through the heart of winter.
I know how busy life gets, and how easy it is to feel a little run-down when the days are shorter and the air is colder. Joints feel a little tighter, aches come from out of the blue and then the feeling of being tired and run down.
Winter has a way of challenging our immune systems — with colder air, more time indoors, and less natural sunlight often leaving us a bit more vulnerable.
As you know; we can gently strengthen ourselves with the same care we’ve built over our long journey together

Let’s keep it simple and heartfelt:
- Nourish yourselves with plenty of warm soups, and immune-loving foods rich in vitamin C and antioxidants.
- Stay hydrated with herbal teas and water
- Prioritise that restorative sleep you all deserve
- Move your body in ways that feel good (even a brisk walk on a sunny winter morning)
- Lean on stress-relieving moments that bring you joy. … obviously like our REEJUV sessions
Nurturing Your Hips for a Life Time of Mobility and Joy
One of the things I cherish most about working with you over the years is watching you embrace life fully — travelling, playing with grandchildren, gardening, or simply moving through your days with ease and confidence.
Our hips are central to that freedom. Including the Sacral Iliac Joints.
Our hips bear our weight, power our movement, and connect our upper and lower body.
When we experience chronic pain and labels such as osteoarthritis, bursitis, or degenerative changes, it can feel limiting.
With consistent, intelligent care we can soothe discomfort, maintain range, and keep you doing the things you love for many years to come.
The guiding formula we use is beautifully balanced:
- Lengthen short, tight muscles
- Strengthen long, weak muscles
- Stabilise that new length and strength so your joints feel supported rather than strained.
- Gentle movement also helps circulate fluids, move stagnant toxins, nourish the fascia (that supportive web around your muscles), and maintain healthy nerve supply to the area.
Here are some safe, effective movements you can do most days (start gently, listen to your body, and stop if you feel sharp pain).
Mobility & Activation Sequence
- Lateral Thoracic Breathing with Pelvic Floor Activation and then gentle Imprint (as per class)
- Layer in bottom check activation on exhale
- Blokes Cross — Cross one ankle over the opposite knee.
- Imprint with glute activation option of legs out straight as practiced in class.
- (Remember the yawn, the breath, the activation of pelvic floor.
Strengthening & Stabilising
Consistency matters far more than intensity. Even a few moments most days can improve circulation, reduce stiffness, support nerve health, and help your body clear metabolic waste through better movement.
Gentle consistent movement – every day… In some way!
Over time, this approach helps preserve cartilage where possible, reduces inflammation around bursae, and builds the resilience you need to keep living vibrantly.
The Emotional Hip Bridge Sequence is a beautiful favourite that we have modified for your health needs in a class sessions. It is a great sequence to support the specific rehabilitation activations that we will be learning in class
You’ve invested so much in your health already — these small daily acts of care are an act of self-love that honours the wonderful life you’re creating. If any of these feel tricky or you’d like modifications, just reach out; I’m here for you as always.
During class a couple of weeks back, I spoke about the kick line of the Dallas Cowboy Cheer girls in relation to hip health and different discussions about repetitive moves and impact moves. For those of you who want to have a look at just the kick line – skip through to the 3-minute mark. This routine is normally on the American Football Field, however, this performance gives you a great view of the kick line and split jump that we were talking about…..
…… If you did watch that – let me know if you want to start training that move for your 100th Birthday Party! 😂
Why Everyone’s Suddenly Talking About Fascia
(and Why It Matters to You)
Over the past few years, you may have noticed the word “fascia” popping up more and more — in wellness conversations, movement classes, and even in our own discussions here.
For a long time, this incredible connective tissue was overlooked, but better imaging and research have finally shown us what many hands-on Practitioners have felt for years:
Fascia is a living, sensory-rich web that influences how we move, feel, and heal.
Fascia is the continuous three-dimensional network of connective tissue that surrounds, supports, and connects every muscle, bone, organ, nerve, and blood vessel in your body.
Everything is connected!
When Fascia is healthy, hydrated, and supple, it allows smooth gliding between tissues, transmits force efficiently during movement, and even plays a role in proprioception (your body’s sense of position) and very importantly fluid circulation.
When Fascia becomes tight, dehydrated, or restricted, stiffness, pain, reduced mobility, and even compensatory issues elsewhere in the body can result.
The benefits of gentle movement, managing injuries correctly, reduce prolonged sitting, calming stress and easing repetitive movements are good steps to assist Fascia.
How Fascia can be better supported
Chiropractic adjustments excel at restoring spinal alignment, improving nerve flow, and freeing joint restrictions.
Fascia work adds another powerful layer: it releases the soft-tissue “holding patterns” that can pull on the skeleton and limit how long an adjustment holds.
By addressing restrictions in this connective web through gentle sustained pressure, stretching, or movement, we help reduce protective tension, improve circulation, support nervous system regulation, and allow your body to integrate the adjustments more fully and hold changes longer.
The Magic in Our REEJUV Fusion Classes
This is exactly why our REEJUV Fusion classes feel so transformative.
We weave mindful movement, targeted mobility sequences, breath work, and fascial release techniques together in a way that hydrates and “de-glues” the tissue while building strength and stability.
The breathwork, multi-dimensional movements help restore that vital glide between layers, move fluids (helping clear toxins and deliver nutrients), calm the nervous system, and support the deep core and hip stabilisers we talked about earlier.
(This will all be tested on your end of year exam… that we never have!)
It’s gentle enough for most bodies yet effective at creating real change — leaving you feeling looser, taller, and more connected after each session.
Caring for your fascia is one of the kindest things you can do for long-term mobility, pain prevention, and overall vitality.
Simple daily habits like staying well hydrated, moving in varied ways, gentle stretching, and attending classes all make a real difference.
You’ve trusted me with your health journey for so long, and I’m continually inspired by your commitment.
